Proposed Changes to Jocelyn Township Building Permit Fees April 21, 2026 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF JOCELYN Information supporting the proposed increases in Building Permit Fees (as required by Section 1.2.1.2 of Ontario Regulation 332/12 under the Building Code Act) NOTICE: The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Jocelyn is proposing to change the fee structure of the Township’s building permit fees. This decision is recommended by staff, following a review of the current permit fee structure and the costs associated with providing the service to enforce the Ontario Building Code Act with regards to the issuance of building permits through Section 7 of the OBCA. The effect will be to change the overall fee structure with the intent to set fees based on size and complexity of the structure. 2026 City Nature Challenge News ReleaseFor Immediate Release Get Ready for the 2026 City Nature Challenge! Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2026 04 15) –The City of Sault Ste. Marie, in partnership with the Central Algoma Land Trust, the Sault Naturalists, the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority, the Chippewa Luce Mackinac Conservation District, and the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, is inviting area residents to take part in the 2026 City Nature Challenge. The City Nature Challenge is a global competition that encourages communities around the world to document local plants and wildlife. Participants in the Algoma District and Chippewa County will once again compete as an international team. The competition will take place from April 24 to April 27, 2026. Identification of recorded species will occur from April 28 to May 10, with results announced on May 13. In 2025, the Algoma region achieved an 11th place ranking
