Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Alarms – It is the law!

All Ontario homes, whether single family, semi-detached or town home must have a working smoke alarm installed on every storey and outside all sleeping areas.

Install carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home near sleeping areas and all fuel-burning appliances. Avoid installing detectors inside or directly outside of a bathroom because high humidity levels can set of the sensors. Carbon monoxide alarms can be hardwired, battery-operated or plugged into the wall.
